High Bluff Academy welcomes students from all nations. Students who plan to come to San Diego, with their parents or by themselves, may attend. This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students on F-1 student visas. For those students coming alone, guardianships and housing can be arranged with local families who live near the school.  Housing and guardianship is $15,000 per school year (does not include summer).

High Bluff Academy accepts students entering grades 9 through 12 who have some proficiency in English. High Bluff Academy has its own after-school tutoring and test prep program where students can get help with SAT/ACT and TOEFL preparation, college counseling, and assistance with college applications and college visits.

TUITION: $19,500 per year (includes books and school fees)

Homestay Placement Fee: $500 (one-time fee)

Application Deadline: Fall 2018  – May 1, 2018 or until full.

Admissions Criteria: We encourage students with limited English to enter our school in Grade 9 in order to be fully prepared for university. International students who study all four years in the U.S. are NOT required to take the TOEFL exam.

Grade 9: TOEFL JR minimum score of 810  or a score of 4.5 or higher on the  ITEP SLATE  Please click on the links to find a testing center in your country.

Curriculum: (8 subjects per week)

Level 1 students in grade 9 and 10 will take the following required classes:

For International students only: English language development, English Literature, U.S. History and Culture

Integrated with American students for Chemistry, Math, Speech and 2 elective classes

Students will also be able to select two elective classes such as Computer Science, Technology/Engineering, Art, Music, Graphic Design, Marketing, Basketball, Ping Pong, Hiking, Community Service Club, Environmental Club, SAT or ACT test prep
